Earthquakes, which frequently affect our country, are natural disasters that cause serious injuries and deaths. These injuries often involve multiple body areas. Although most of the injuries that occur are extremity injuries, a multidisciplinary approach to the patients is necessary. After the first and second care of patients, such as long-bone fractures, crush injuries, soft tissue injuries and major injuries are when they are treated with quite good results are obtained. In addition, it should be kept in mind that these patients may be polytrauma patients depending on the severity of the injury in the affected body area. Recognizing polytrauma patients both in the prehospital period and in the hospital, and intervention in accordance with advanced life support protocols significantly improves the survival of the patients. Besides, it is extremely important to quickly recognize and begin treatment of clinical manifestations such as pelvic injury, open fractures, compartment syndrome and crush syndrome, which are part of the polytrauma. One of the steps to make a decision about the patients is the concept of damage-controlled orthopedics. The appropriate treatment method to be chosen for patients whose physiological conditions have been evaluated will have a very effective effect on the survival of their patients.
