Epicondylitis are the most frequent cause of elbow pain. The incidence is high particularly in overhead throwing athletes. Repetitive motions against resistance of elbow and wrist are the main causes. Although they are referred as epicondylitis, the main mechanism is tendinosis due to degeneration. Rest, activity modification, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, exercises, orthoses, physical therapy, injections and surgery are indicated for treatment. In athletes, epicondylitis is associated with decreased performance and follow-up without treatment is not recommended.
