Amputation is one of the most common injuries after an earthquake. It requires a long and comprehensive rehabilitation process for the amputee, who is in a difficult situation physically and psychologically, to regain functionality and return to his social life and profession. The rehabilitation process begins before the patient`s surgical amputation, followed by the post-operative period, the postprosthesis period and the follow-up periods. Immediately after the patient`s medical condition stabilizes, the patient should be mobilized, make the stump suitable for the prosthesis with proper positioning and bandaging, and be careful against secondary complications that may occur. The prosthesis decision-making and prescribing phase should be done meticulously with the team decision, in which the patient and his family also participate. Appropriate prosthesis should be prescribed for the patient, taking into account the age, weight, amputation level, activity level, cognitive and psychosocial status, stump length and healing, muscle strength, cardiopulmonary capacity, accompanying injuries and comorbid conditions. The patient, whose prosthesis training is completed, should be seen for certain periods after discharge, and the condition of the stump and prosthesis should be checked.
