Developmental hip dysplasia might be seen in all age groups. Treatment options vary depending on the patient`s age and the degree of hip dysplasia. Open reduction techniques are used in the treatment of developmental hip dysplasia in children aged 6-18 months who have not been successful with closed reduction. For this purpose, medial and anterior approaches are applied. There are multiple methods described for the medial approach. Compared to the anterior approach, it is a method that can be safely applied in a younger age group, as it provides less surgical bleeding and allows bilateral application. Since the surgical field of view is narrow, it is important that it be performed by experienced surgeons in terms of the possibility of complications. In this article, it is aimed to evaluate the surgical technique of the medial approach and the treatment results in the light of current literature.
