The soft tissues are the fundamental components of the human body`s complex and dynamic structure. These tissues encompass the functions and organization of structures such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels. The anatomical principles of the soft tissues are critically important in diagnosing and treating orthopedic problems. We reviewed the biomechanical properties, regenerative capacities, and functional roles of soft tissues. Additionally, the healing processes of soft tissue injuries and the factors influencing these processes are addressed. Understanding the function of the soft tissues is crucial for optimizing orthopedic surgical and rehabilitation approaches and improving patient outcomes. This review aims to provide up-to-date information on the anatomical and functional characteristics of soft tissues, serving as a valuable resource for clinicians and researchers.
