Orthopedic trauma is one of the serious problems that usually develops suddenly and can range from simple and noninvasive intervention to life-threatening situations. In many patients, even a simple fracture or dislocation may limit the daily life activities of individuals, slow down the return to work, reduce the quality of life, increase an economic burden on the individual and the health system and can cause psychosocial problems. For these reasons, it is important to evaluate the patients in detail and plan the approach. The main purpose of care and approach of patients with orthopedic trauma is to identify life-threatening injuries or extremities, initiate the necessary treatment and interventions, provide quality care, prevent complications and return the person to their life with a full recovery. Detailed primary and secondary evaluations of these patients as if they have multiple traumas should be performed by expert trauma team members, pain management should be effective, care should be taken to keep records, and a holistic approach should be taken, and the patient`s family should be included in the process when necessary. Nurses, the most important members of this team, have important roles and responsibilities at every stage of this period.
