Pathological fracture appears with the weakening of bone tissue with decreased mechanical and viscoelastic properties. Pathological fractures may appear as the first finding of the underlying pathology. Tumors, infections and metabolic diseases are considered in the forefront among the most common factors. The damage caused by microorganisms to infectious and inflammatory processes in bone tissue can be defined as osteomyelitis. Osteomyelitis usually occurs as a result of hematogenous spread or direct inoculation with surgery, trauma. The aim of the treatment is to control the infection, reduce pain and restore the extremity and function. In the case presenting with a pathological fracture, surgical debridement that reaches to the intact bone and soft tissue is required. As a result, the cooperation of orthopedics, plastic surgery, radiology, microbiology and infectious diseases specialists is needed in the treatment of osteomyelitis- related fractures or post-fracture osteomyelitis. After ensuring stability with external fixators, reconstructive surgical procedures should be applied after infection is controlled with antibiotherapy.
