Joint dislocations should be relocated as soon as possible. It is often difficult to obtain a normal and painless joint even if neglected joint dislocations are reduced. Neglected joint dislocation is mostly seen in developing countries. The reason for negligence is the inability to make a diagnosis at the initial referral center, delay in the application time to the health center or the financial burden of medical treatment. Reduced quality of life, pain, limitation of function is seen in most neglected joint dislocations. However, in rare cases functionality may be preserved; in this type of patients only observational therapy can be chosen as a treatment modality. Treatment options vary according to the trauma zone, age, occupation, and the date of trauma. It should not be forgotten that the first and maybe the most important step in treatment is to share the therapy methods and its consequences with the patient, and to decide for the treatment method together. There are treatment options such as, closed reduction, open reduction, arthrodesis and arthroplasty. Neglected dislocations are most commonly observed at patella, knee, hip, shoulder and elbow. Various treatment methods have been described in the literature.
