Computer-assisted surgery is a technique that has gained an increasing popularity. It is also used in plastic and reconstructive surgery and cranial surgery while trauma, arthroplasty, orthopedic oncology and deformity correction are the main areas in orthopeadics and traumatology. Eliminating human errors in any step of the deformity correction, necessitated the use of computer assisted approaches in planning and different stages of the treatment. Obtaining high quality three dimensional anatomical images, planning the amenable method for correction and providing a correction program for gradual corrections with spatial fixators are the main advantages in clinical practice. Although the concerns about the cost-effectiveness of this technique is ongoing, the favour in the complex deformities is widely accepted.
