Scoliosis surgeries are very risky interventions depending on the intervention site and the size of the deformity. Medical interventions are more frequently applied due to the development of implants used in surgery, the variety and the increase in surgical techniques. It is known that neurological problems may occur before spinal deformity surgeries. One of the most important parameters of not encountering legal disputes in scoliosis cases is the complete preoperative examination and study documentation of the patient. Likewise, the record-keeping features of the assistive devices that should be used during the surgery and the complete documentation of the surgery are very important in the evaluations of any conflicts that may occur. In our article, it is aimed to prevent disputes that may arise by giving examples from cases that have been treated surgically due to scoliosis and that have been reported to high courts.
