In this review, the direction of the shoulder movement, its components and the muscles involved in the movement on the shoulder girdle to perform this movement are explained. In addition, the forces acting on the joints in the shoulder girdle are focused on the muscle force couples that exist along the glenohumeral and scapulothoracic joints, and various structures that contribute to the stability of the glenohumeral, sternoclavicular and acromioclavicular joints are defined. In addition, the review ends with the biomechanical changes that occur in the shoulder athletes are explained with the similar studies.
