Child abuse is an important social issue that compromises many situations from neglect to sexual abuse. Physical abuse is the second most common type of abuse. Physical abuse may cause many injuries from simple skin bruises to life-threatening injuries. Many mental and physical diseases occur in abused children, not only during the period they are abused but also in adulthood. Therefore, diagnosing and preventing abuse is extremely important for the future of the patient and society. In order not to miss child abuse; when evaluating pediatric patients with trauma, the possibility of abuse should always be kept in mind.
