Children are not little adults. Children`s bones have their own biological and biomechanical properties. The structure and osteogenic capacity of pediatric periosteum are different from adults. Therefore, the mechanism, treatment, and recovery processes of fractures in childhood differ from adults. In addition, children`s bones include growth plate, unlike adults. Due to the growing structure, it may be difficult to predict the final outcome in the follow up period after the fracture healing. Deformities may be corrected by remodeling in injuries that does not affect growth plate, but newly deformities may occur in injuries affecting the growth plate. Therefore, while treating the fractures of children it should be kept in mind that children`s bones have specific peculiarities.
