Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is a common orthopedic problem characterized by abnormal development and instability of the hip joint. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are required to prevent long-term complications and to obtain favorable outcomes. Therefore, understanding and correct interpretation of radiological indicators in the evaluation of DDH is of great importance in the evaluation of DDH severity and in determining treatment options. The present review aims to summarize basic radiographic imaging modalities including ultrasound, direct radiography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and their importance in making treatment decisions of DDH.
