Developmental dysplasia of the hip is a common condition that, if left untreated, can lead to secondary osteoarthritis. Ganz periacetabular osteotomy is a widely used surgical technique for acetabular reorientation in skeletally mature patients. However, Ganz osteotomy is a complex, multi-step procedure that requires a high level of surgical expertise. Although rare, complications such as nerve injuries, heterotopic ossification, and nonunion may still occur. Compared to the traditional technique, the rectus-sparing approach has been associated with reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, less postoperative pain, and improved early functional outcomes. Long-term follow-up studies have demonstrated satisfactory functional and radiological results of Ganz osteotomy.
